The Journey That Built Get It Smackn

The Founder’s Story

I started Get It Smackn® because I wanted to make an impact on people who feel like their goals are out of reach, their effort goes unnoticed, or they’re walking their path without support. I wanted to remind everyday people that everything is possible if you go hard, stay committed, and never quit. I created this brand so we can recognize and clap for the ones who are trying, not just the ones who already made it.

To me, Get It Smackn is more than a phrase. It is a mindset and a lifestyle. In work, it means bringing the best version of myself to every job, every challenge, and every opportunity because my name is my signature. In life, it means being productive, taking care of responsibilities, growing, building, and contributing. And it also means recognizing greatness in others, the same way we hype up our favorite teams. Teams perform better with fans behind them, and everyday people perform better when rooted for too.

I grew up in Pittsburgh’s St. Clair Village, a public housing community also known as the Projects. That environment shaped how I saw effort, recognition, and support. “Get It Smackn” was hood slang around the city. People used it to describe energy,  a party was smackn, an outfit was smackn, or someone might say “What’s smackn?” instead of asking how you were doing. It was a raw, energetic street expression, but nobody ever defined it clearly. I took that phrase and gave it a purpose. I turned it into something positive, motivating, and rooted in effort and support.

Where I came from, the only applause came from sports, fighting, working out, or being involved in the streets. Anything outside of that was ignored. When I won ping-pong tournaments, chess competitions, or built inventions, it was met with silence. No recognition. No celebration. No push. I often wondered how far I could have gone if someone had clapped for me. Support matters. Even one voice in your corner can change your direction.

That is one of the core reasons I built this brand.

As a masonry contractor, I build structures for a living, and I learned that people need structure too. Not just in buildings but in spirit. Support, belief, and encouragement. My grind is real. Long days, late nights, sometimes 18 or even 24 hours straight. Through it all, I teach my crew not just how to build walls but how to build themselves.

I know what it feels like to score with nobody cheering. I know what it feels like to push through discouragement without a voice telling you to keep going. I know what it feels like to wonder how far you could have gone with a little more guidance, love, or belief.

This brand is for the people who feel that way and for the people who refuse to let others feel that way anymore.

Get It Smackn® is for everyone out here winning and trying to win. For the ones who figured some things out and the ones still figuring it out. For the ones who reach back for the next generation. For the ones who want to remind others that they are doing it and that others can do it too. For people from all walks of life who are improving themselves and helping others do the same.

I built this brand to create confidence. Not just in how you look, but in how you think, how you feel, and how you show up. Some people make it without support, but many need it. Even the ones who made it without support could have gone further with it.

When someone wears this brand, I want them to feel proud of who they are and confident that their goals are possible. and even if the support they expected is not there, this lifestyle is.

When someone sees another person wearing it, I want them to think, “That person is chasing something meaningful. Respect.”

If I could say one thing to the people this lifestyle is for, it would be this:

I also want to give a special thanks to my beautiful wife for her love, support, and the peace she gives me to build this vision. She is a major part of why this brand exists and why I can show up the way I do.

At Get It Smackn®, we believe greatness isn’t reserved for the spotlight. We clap for the athletes and celebrities, but more importantly, we clap for the everyday people who rarely get recognition.

The parent grinding to provide.
The student pushing toward a dream.
The worker holding it down.
The builder, the dreamer, the creator, the healer, the hustler.
